Though the original label suggests the paintings are Japanese, it has been determined that the paintings may be done on pith paper and match closely with souvenirs brought form artisans in China in the early 19th century.

Dorothy Bliss Manuscript

This collection is a typewritten manuscript written for Biology 22 at Harvard University by Dorothy Bliss, entitled "The Mechanics of Bird Flight: A Report Based on a Seminar Presented on October 14, 1947". The manuscript summarizes a lecture on bird flight mechanics, including hand-drawn diagrams in the last pages. Corrections and edits in pen are present, possibly from Bliss or Boston Society of Natural History staff member, although not certain.
