 Collection
Identifier: A2024-01-01

Content Description

This collection consists of three document boxes containing black and white photographic prints and picture postcards, and four negative/print boxes containing photographic negatives, occasionally housed with corresponding photographic prints. The photographic prints are primarily silver gelatin and the negatives are likely nitrate film, and a number of glass plate negatives are also included. Negatives are housed in individual paper sleeves labeled with date, location, and development notes.

The images are of architectural features taken during Cope's travels in Italy, France, Spain, Greece, and England during the early 1930s. The postcards are of various tourist and historical sites from those same locations and are almost entirely blank, though a handful are addressed to Cope's acquaintances in the United States.
