Some audiovisual materials are restricted due to technical requirements that limit our ability to view, play, or access the materials.
For onsite access, researchers must schedule an appointment with the Archives as far in advance as possible; a minimum of three weeks is requested. Contact Archives@mos.org for more information.

The Bradford Washburn Award Records contains materials that are still under copyright. In particular, the Museum of Science maintains copyright over many of these materials. The records also contain works whose copyright is held by other individuals and organizations. The researcher assumes all responsibility for identifying copyright holders and attaining permission for reproduction.
Biographical / Historical
The Bradford Washburn Award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution toward public understanding and appreciation of science and the vital role it plays in our lives. Bradford Washburn was the director of the Museum of Science for 40 years. The award is given to those who embody Washburn's spirit and passion for innovation, learning, and exploration.

Custodial History
The materials were found in storage. It is assumed they came from the Advancement Department, Marketing Department, and other museum staff at an undetermined time.
Processing Information
Original processing took place in spring 2023. In fall 2023, photographs were found in storage and added to the collection. AV materials were found and added to the collection. The AV materials were also associated with previously digitized materials from 2019-2020.
