William Dandridge Peck Manuscript
Content Description
This collection is an 1808 report by William Dandridge Peck to the Massachusetts Agricultural Society regarding his three-year travel in Europe made in preparation of his professorship of Natural History at Harvard University. The report is 21 pages long and handwritten in ink, also including a front and back cover page. Also included in the folder is a small note about library regulations, though the library the note is for is unclear, and a handwritten note with the title of the journal on it.

Biographical Note
William Dandridge Peck (1763-1822) was an American naturalist notable for his work in entomology. Born in Boston, he became the first professor of Natural History at Harvard University in 1805. To prepare for his position, Peck traveled to Europe from 1805-1808 for his studies. Peck also served as a founding member of the American Antiquarian Society.
