Projector Construction Photographs (f. 4 of 4), circa 1950s
Scope and Contents
This subseries contains records relating to the construction, operation, and maintenance of the custom-built Korkosz planetarium projector, which was used from 1958 through 1970. Contents include extensive correspondence with the Korkosz brothers, beginning in the early 1950s and continuing throughout the 1960s. This correspondence addresses the design of the projector, payment schedules, materials acquisition, and maintenance needs. The correspondence also documents the Museum’s efforts to complete the planetary projection system. The subseries also contains photographs of the projector’s construction in Springfield, Massachusetts, its installation at Science Park, and its removal in 1970.

This collection is open for research with the exception of certain files that are listed as restricted. Certain files which contain sensitive legal, financial, or personal information are restricted.
As a preservation measure due to the fragile condition of some materials, access may be restricted to where only Archives staff can handle the materials.
