Scope and Contents
This series documents the construction, maintenance, and renovations of the Charles Hayden Planetarium. Materials include photographs, floor plans and architectural drawings, reports, budget documentation, and correspondence. This subseries contains both analog and digital assets. Major topics covered include: the initial design and construction of the Planetarium building, 1951-1958, maintenance activities and equipment upgrades, and significant renovations that took place in 1970-1971, 1995, and 2010-2011. This series does not cover the construction of the Traveling Planetarium or the Korkosz Projector. This collection is open for research with the exception of certain files that are listed as restricted. Certain files which contain sensitive legal, financial, or personal information are restricted.
As a preservation measure due to the fragile condition of some materials, access may be restricted to where only Archives staff can handle the materials.
