Series 4: Theater of Electricity, 1905 - 2013

This series includes materials about the Theater of Electricity as a whole space. Even though the VDG is the main attraction of the TOE, materials specific to the VDG history and use is separated into Series 2.

Subseries 1: Systems, 1955-2013. Materials regarding the parts and function (“systems”) of the TOE. Includes purchase orders for materials, correspondence about safety and safety systems related documents, building plans, and operating manuals. Includes a folder with notes about the Ultra High Voltage Van de Graaff Generator.

Subseries 2: Administrative Documents, 1952-2002. Administrative documents and correspondence regarding the TOE. Includes meeting minutes from the Steering Committee, financial information (budgets, donors, and funding, including NSF proposal), early exhibit and program ideas, and exhibit planning. Also includes the remarks for the TOE dedication ceremony.

Subseries 3: Programs, 1905-2013. Materials about public programs in the TOE. Includes information about lightning and its effects, programs and props ideas, early program outlines, records of group visits from 1962-1965, and basic information about Van de Graaff generators.
