This subseries contains a variety of published works by Washburn. It includes articles written for general audiences in newspapers or magazines (e.g. Life), articles published in academic periodicals or special interest journals (e.g. The American Alpine Journal), maps and charts, autobiographical works, and stand-alone reprints of articles that were originally presented in journals or magazines. Topics addressed by publications in this subseries include specific expeditions or mapping projects, photography, and mountain climbing routes and safety. Also included in this subseries are books, articles, and monographs by others that include photographs or maps attributed to Washburn.
